Special Event Gathering

Wahissa

We are having a gathering at our tribal land on the weekend of July 9-12. This is a very important gathering. We will be making an official change over of the leadership of our tribe. We will be welcoming our new Principal Chief, our new Assistant Chief and our new state Chief of Georgia and Satilla River Band. We will also be spreading the ashes of our fallen brother Robert "Sly Fox" Cox at the request of his Wife Red Raven.

This is one time we need all the support we can get from our tribal members. Being as we will not be going to the Pow Wow in NC I will expect all who had planned to attend the Pow Wow to make arrangements to be at the Reservation on these days instead. We have come to a cross roads in our path and it is time for all members of the tribe to show their pride and show their commitment to the cause of Gathering all People together in one Tribe.

We have cut ties with The Nuluti Equani Ehi tribe in NC. The main reason being that we have been miss-led by their Chief into the belief that we will be getting Tribal Government status alone with them. The second reason is that they have a different agenda from ours, is that they are very restrictive on who they admit to their tribe. This does not conform to our cause of the Gathering of all People with Native American blood into one Tribe. They stated that they have had many complaints about our tribe and it's practices, when it is the same with me, I have had many complaints because we were connected with them. If we are going to make this tribe succeed, Controversy is something that we don't need right now in our path.

The Fall Gathering at our

Wahissa

There will be a gathering on October 15th. 16th. and 17th. 2010 to awaken the land to the Spirits of our past and bring them on to the future with our Tribe. The Land is in Millwood Georgia on Forks Road. It is called Wahissa, and it is right on the banks of the Satilla River.

We are the Cherokee People and The Creator has given us a path to follow. We will become strong and prosperous as long as we don't get diverted from that path.

I hope to see everyone that can make it at the land. This was a great weekend for our People. Everyone can chose their own camp sites and help in the clearing their own site. We drilled a well also and cut a new path down to the river, so everyone could enjoy a fresh dip, or go fishing if they want. We have sett our Sacred Fire pit and Circle. and we blessed all the property.

Remember All are welcome, so bring your tent bring your Tee Pee bring your camper, but most of all bring your yard tools, like chain saws. shovels, rakes, weed eaters and nippers. We can use all the help we can get to make this land your home. Remember this is Tribal land and that means it is for all members to use any time.
